Govardhana Puja honours Sri Giriraja and remembers Krishna lifting Govardhana Hill to protect the residents of Vrindavan.

Significance of this day

Krishna redirected the Vrajavasis' worship toward Govardhana Hill, the cows and the brahmanas, then sheltered them beneath the hill for seven days from Indra's storm.

• Devotees worship the cows, offer an Annakuta hill of preparations, hear the Govardhana pastime and honour abundant prasadam.
