Jhulana Yatra ends

Jhulan Yatra — the monsoon swing festival, when Sri Sri Radha-Krishna are seated on a beautifully decorated swing.

Significance of this day

Jhulan Yatra recalls the pastimes of Radha and Krishna swinging in the groves of Vrindavan during the rainy season, attended by the gopis.

Serving the Lord in this playful, intimate mood is a way of entering the sweetness of Vraja bhakti.

How it is observed at ISKCON Asansol

• For five days the deities are placed on a flower-decorated swing; devotees offer swing service, kirtan and seasonal fruits.

Dates follow the authentic Gaudiya Vaishnava calendar observed at ISKCON Mayapur, calculated for our region. Timings for fasting and breaking the fast are announced at the temple.
